Vacancy: NIAS looking for volunteering alumni
The NIAS Foundation of Alumni (NFA) and the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS) are looking for NIAS alumni (x/f/m) to support the NIAS staff towards more attention and care for the social needs of NIAS Fellows. Do you remember that a NIAS fellowship was often academically inspirational, but at the same time could be socially challenging? Do you have some hours to spare and invest in the current NIAS community? Do you live at a convenient distance from our offices and apartments? Then we hope you will join NIAS – once more!
David Van Reybrouck appointed Philosopher Laureate of The Netherlands
Effective April 1, 2025, former NIAS fellow and Belgian writer, thinker, and historian David Van Reybrouck will be appointed Philosopher Laureate of The Netherlands. Over the next two years, he will dedicate himself to what he calls "vérdenken."
