In Memoriam: Anne Simpson

2 May 2017
It is with great sadness that we inform you that Anne Simpson passed away peacefully on 25th of April 2017 in Watford general Hospital. Her sister Janet Birch was by her side.

We remember Anne as an unconventional, kind and humorous colleague and as an exceptionally dedicated editor. She started at NIAS on 1 December 1972, just a year after NIAS was set up, and over the years worked for many fellows. She retired from NIAS several years ago and returned to England to be with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Condolences can be emailed to .

The funeral will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday 5th May, at Amersham Crematorium (Chiltern Hills AONB, Whielden Ln, Amersham, HP7 0ND, UK). Since moving to the UK, Anne has actively supported ‘Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’ charity. As a lasting memory for Anne the family is looking to support the funding of a new puppy for a family with the charity. If you would kindly like to make a donation, you can do so at: https://www.hearingdogs.org.uk/donate/
