Pearl Dykstra, NIAS Fellow 2002/03 and 2008/09, appointed Vice-President of the Royal Academy

Pearl Dykstra, NIAS Fellow 2002/03 and 2008/09 was elected as Vice-President of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. She will be officially installed in her new position on 26 September 2011. Pearl Dykstra was a member of the 2002/03 research theme group “Older adults’ life strategies in preparing for the future”. She was Secretary of the NIAS Fellows’ Association, NFA, from 2005 to 2011. Pearl Dykstra is Professor of Empirical Sociology and Kinship Demography at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
