Online NIAS Seminar

Dato Turashvili, Georgian writer of novels, travel stories, theatre plays and movie scripts, unravels Dutch-Georgian connections and relations and the Dutch role and function in the Georgian movement for independence and freedom.

For his new book, Dato Turashvili, looks into Georgia’s past through the eyes of a Dutch man falling in love with a Georgian woman. The book is about the past – about Georgia one hundred years ago, but in fact it is a very contemporary project – even now, in the 21th century, Georgia faces the same problems on the road to be a modern and democratic state.
