Jonathan Israel is em. Professor of Modern European History at the Institute for Advanced Study, School of Historical Studies, Princeton. Beatrice de Graaf is Professor of History of International Relations and Global Governance, Utrecht University.
The Spaarne lecture is an initiative of the Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen and Teylers Museum and aims to share the scientific knowledge of both institutes with a wider audience. Leading experts discuss the past, present and future of science.
