In recent years, he has been actively engaged in debates on U.S. trade policy as well as the autonomy of scientific research. Since May 2025, he has held a part-time affiliation with Erasmus University Rotterdam. In September 2025, he will return to the Netherlands for a series of public events.
As a strong advocate for academic freedom and a beacon of independent thought, NIAS is proud to announce that Professor Paul Krugman will deliver a public lecture at the Royal Academy as part of the NIAS Lecture Series.
