NIAS expected to move in 2016

15 October 2014
The institute is expected to move to the city centre of Amsterdam in the summer of 2016. The Royal Academy for Arts and Sciences (KNAW) is working on preparations for our new location and fellows’ housing facilities.

Clustering

NIAS is relocating as part of the KNAW’s plan to cluster its institutes (see the “contourennota” policy paper, in Dutch). This programme aims at closer cooperation between NIAS, Huygens ING, the International Institute of Social History (IISG) and the Meertens Institute, while maintaining each institute’s scientific autonomy, mission and identity.
