Open Call for Theme Groups 23/24

Each year, one to three research theme groups come to NIAS to carry out research that requires a longer period of daily cooperation. Theme groups are composed of a maximum of five scholars, both from the Netherlands and abroad, and researchers work both individually and as a team on a research topic for five consecutive months.

NIAS offers time and space for reflection, discussion and cooperation in a truly interdisciplinary environment. Participating in NIAS’ community inspires the generation of new approaches and ideas that will bring ground-breaking work to fruition. A fellowship includes facilities to work together on a daily basis. Fellows from Dutch universities or institutes receive either subsidized accommodation or commuting travel expenses and their universities receive a NIAS grant. Fellows from universities or institutes abroad receive subsidized accommodation in Amsterdam and may apply for a stipend.
