Willem F. Duisenberg Fellowship Prize awarded to Robert Inklaar

Robert Inklaar, Associate Professor of Global Economics and Management at the University of Groningen has been awarded the Willem F. Duisenberg Fellowship Prize 2016. He has received the Prize, which consists of €15.000 and a medal, for his research on economic growth and the role of the financial sector. The Willem F. Duisenberg Fellowship Prize is awarded biennially by the Willem F. Duisenberg Foundation and NIAS.

About the Prize

The Willem F. Duisenberg Fellowship Prize is awarded to outstanding young scholars in the area of applied monetary economics, applied macroeconomics, financial stability or public finance. The Prize aims to foster excellence in applied policy research in the Netherlands and rewards exceptional creativity, significant accomplishment in applied policy research (monetary economics, applied macroeconomics, financial stability or public finance) and promise for important future advances.

The WFDF Jury 2016 consisted of the President of De Nederlandsche Bank, Klaas Knot (Chair); the Treasurer General of the Ministry of Finance, Hans Vijlbrief; the former President of De Nederlandsche Bank, Nout Wellink; the Dean of the Duisenberg School of Finance, Dirk Schoenmaker; the Chairman of the WFDF Foundation, Victor Halberstadt.

Award Ceremony

Robert Inklaar was offered the Prize by Klaas Knot, Chair of the Jury, during an award ceremony on 10 May 2016 at De Nederlandsche Bank.
