Seminar - This Chart is a Lonely Hunter

In a Seminar on 14 June, Writer-in-Residence Reif Larsen will elaborate on the seduction of visual storytelling.

About the Seminar

Reif Larsen will explore the ways that visuals can tell stories, and in particular the sometimes fraught relationship between text and image. Drawing upon diverse sources including the marginalia from his own book, airline safety cards, graphic novels, illuminated manuscripts, and the current Dutch obsession with information graphics, Larsen will unpack the opportunities (and dangers) of visual storytelling, a field of increasing prominence in today’s visual-heavy world.

The lecture is followed by an open discussion.

About the Speaker

Reif Larsen is Writer-in-Residence 2011/12 and author of the novel The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet.
