Three former Fellows have received a prestigious Vici grant of 1.5 million euros from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research. NIAS congratulates Eveline Crone (Fellow 2012/13 and 2013/14), Oscar Gelderblom (Fellow 2012/13) and Herman van de Werfhorst (Fellow 2012/13).
The grants will enable the laureates to do research for the next five years and to build up their own research group. Vici is one of the largest grants for individual scientists in the Netherlands. More about Vici 2014.

Oscar Gelderblom (Fellow 2012/13, Economic History, Utrecht University) for the project “The Dynamics of Inclusive Finance in the Netherlands, 1750-1970”.
Herman van de Werfhorst (Fellow 2012/13, Sociology, University of Amsterdam) for the project “Between institutions and social mechanisms: education and inequality in comparative perspective”.
