Theologist and philosopher Mehrdad Alipour, currently at NIAS, has published an article in the Journal of Homosexuality, a review of Scott Kugle's Living out Islam: Voices of Gay, Lesbian, and Transgender Muslims.

About the Article

According to the publisher, “Scott Kugle’s Living Out Islam documents the rarely-heard voices of Muslims who live in secular democratic countries and who are gay, lesbian, and transgender. About Mehrad Alipour

Mehrdad Alipour holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Qom, Iran. As a Scholar-at-Risk Fellow, a fellowship co-sponsored with the UAF Foundation, he works on a philosophical- hermeneutical analysis of Islamic sources and Muslim Queer theology: Negotiating Same-Sex Desire and Act in Islam.
