Mehrdad Alipour, scholar of philosophy and theology, discusses sexual diversity in Islam in a public lecture in Groningen on 14 March.

About the Lecture

“Does Allah support sexual diversity?”
Traditionally, homosexuality and Islam cannot be reconciled. However, Iranian philosopher and theologian Mehrdad Alipour does see room for homo- and bisexuality in islam. Drawing on islamic sources he reaches the controversial conclusion that God actually does support sexual diversity.
On invitation of student organisation GSp en COC Groningen & Drenthe Mehrdad Alipour will be in Groningen on Monday March 14, 20:00h (at the Mennonite church (‘doopsgezinde kerk’) to learn about his research and to join the conversation about sexual diversity in Islam.
