Frances Handoko-de Man, L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellow in 2015/16, has received a highly competitive Vidi grant by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). The grant of up to €800,000, allows her to develop their own innovative line of research and establish her own research group.

What is the similarity between the claw of a tiger and an adapted right ventricle in PAHpatients? Their shape allows them to withstand immense load. Dr De Man will investigate how right heart failure can be treated by keeping the right ventricle in shape.
