The Dutch translation of "La Oculta", the novel by Columbian writer Héctor Abad, will be presented on 16 June at a BorderKitchen event in The Hague. Abad is currently at NIAS as Writer-in-Residence.

Héctor Abad will discuss his latest book, La Oculta, at a literary evening at BorderKitchen, where he will be interviewed by Chris Keulemans. At this event, the Dutch translation (De geheime droom van het land, De Geus) of the novel will be published. Read more and sign up.

 

About Héctor Abad

Héctor Abad (Medellin, Colombia) is a Colombian novelist, essayist, journalist, and editor. Abad is one of the most acclaimed post-Latin American Boom writers in Latin American literature. Abad is best known for his bestselling novel Angosta, and more recently, El Olvido que Seremos (t. Oblivion: A Memoir), Abad’s tribute to his father, ‘the communist doctor’ murdered by Colombian paramilitaries in 1987.
Abad holds the writer-in-residence-fellowship 2016, a fellowship co-sponsored by the Dutch Foundation for Literature, where he talked about the process of writing in the talk “Centrum“.
