Agnes Verbiest, born in Tilburg, the Netherlands, in 1934. Ph.D. from Leiden University. Associate Professor of Dutch Speech Communication at Leiden University.

Fellow (1 September 1989 – 30 June 1990)

As a member of the fallacies research group, I studied the French argumentation theorists Anscombre and Ducrot. I also had a second project, entitled ‘Language and Gender’, in which I studied argumentative language use.
