Marjolein ‘t Hart, born in Voorburg, the Netherlands, in 1955. Ph.D. from Groningen University. Associate Professor of Social and Economic History at the University of Amsterdam.

I was a participant in the ‘Urban Change and Urban Policy’ theme group during my stay at NIAS. My original plan to write a part of my book on urban-rural dichotomies in the Dutch Republic was transformed into the more feasible alternative to write some articles on the topic: one is already published, another will come out shortly hereafter.
