Sixten Ringbom, born in Turku, Finland, in 1935. Professor of Art History and Theory of Art at the Åbo Akademi University, Turku. († 1992)

I defined my research theme in fairly broad terms as ‘narrative conventions in Western art’. In this frame I worked on a monograph with the working title ‘Indirect Narration in the Visual Arts’.
