Peter van Koppen, born in Haarlem, the Netherlands, in 1953. LL.D. from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Assistant Professor of Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

I used my stay at NIAS foremost for the following two purposes: 1) I wrote an extensive manuscript on civil law negotiations, emphasizing the role of justice considerations in the process and 2) I wrote the first version of a book-length manuscript on the nominations to the Hoge Raad der Nederlanden (Dutch Supreme Court) from 1838 until the present.
