POLITICAL BIOGRAPHY ON THE AUSTRIAN NATIONAL SOCIALIST ARTHUR SEYSS-INQUART
During my stay at NIAS, I had the opportunity to do substantial biographical research on the Austrian National Socialist, Arthur Seyß-Inquart (1892-1946). Having started his political activities in favour of National Socialism by preparing the integration of Austria into the Greater German Reich (Anschluss Österreichs) behind the scenes, he reached the peak of his career when he was appointed Reichskommissar by Hitler in occupied the Netherlands. In order to study Seyß-Inquart’s policy implemented between 1940 and 1945, I did extensive research at the Nederlands Instituut voor Oorlogsdocumentatie (Netherlands Institute for War Documentation, Amsterdam) and the Nationaal Archief (national archive, The Hague). Furthermore I started to write the first chapters of the monograph which will be published in both German and Dutch versions.
