The main aim was the completion of my thesis Child and cloister in the Early Middle Ages. Aspects of Child Oblation in the Frankish Monastic World, 500-900. My second goal has was a preliminary inquiry into the practice of commendatio puerorum, i.e. the entrusting of aristocratic youngsters to noble households and the royal court, with special attention to Merovingian hagiography.
