THE RULE OF LAW MOVEMENT. AN OVERVIEW
During my stay at NIAS as a Henry G. Schermers fellow from September 2008 until January 2009, I worked on a draft of two booklets (“The rule of law: A guide for politicians” and “The Rule of Law: A guide for children”) for the Inter Action Council and the World Justice Forum. These are nearly complete. I also started to work on a monograph on the history of efforts to promote the rule of law at the domestic level across the world. I have greatly benefited from the privileged setting and excellent research facilities at NIAS. The multidisciplinary group of fellows has been a stimulus for fresh thinking on my own projects. I am deeply grateful to the Hague Institute for the Internationalisation of Law and NIAS, who fund the Henry G. Schermers fellowship.
