The Indonesian Revolution on Bali 1945 – 1950
Research Question
In this research I am trying to understand why violence on Bali during the Indonesian independence struggle was so intense and how that is placed within the tradition of colonial violence and resistance on the island and within the context of the forming of the State of East Indonesia.
Project Description
I am writing a book about the Indonesian independence struggle on Bali. I thereby focus on the violence during this conflict, seen from personal perspectives on both sides and placed within the regional, political context.
