I made a great deal of progress on the major project which I came to NIAS to work, namely the bilingual Mesopotamian incantation Series known as Utukku Lemnutu. The major part of the textual work has been completed, including the edition, translation, glossary, and autograph copies, and much progress has been made on the introduction. The collaboration with colleagues here at NIAS has helped enormously, as has my weekly seminar in Leiden with Professor Marten Stol. The weekly seminars of the “Magic and Religion” group influenced me to write a separate article on incantations to the Sun God which will be published shortly. Two other articles were completed during my stay, and a fourth one written and accepted for publication. I also finished the final editing of two volumes of essays which will appear in June and July 1995 respectively. I delivered eight public lectures while at NIAS, in English, Dutch, and German.
