BURGUNDIAN NOBILITY. NOBLE FAMILIES AND PRINCELY POLITICS, C. 1425-C. 1525
The aim of my NIAS research project was to write some chapters of a book, together with Antheun Janse, on the nobility in the late medieval Low Countries, from ca. 1430 to ca. 1530. In my research for this book, I focused on the nobility of the duchy of Brabant. At NIAS I spent most of my time on editing several convocation lists of the Estates of Brabant in which the names of hundreds of noblemen appear. As part of the editing work I integrated short biographical notes of the noblemen. Furthermore, I completed two articles. The first one was on the knights-banneret of Brabant, which appeared in a book that also I co-edited. The second one was on the knights of the district of Brussels at the end of the 15th century which will appear in a volume on the relations between town and countryside in north west Europe.
