THE WAY TO GO

I built the foundation for a new novel, completing roughly a third of a draft with notes for what is to follow. I could not have hoped for better, as finding the right way to initiate and structure a story is often the hardest part of the creative process. Additionally, I completed copy edits of an anthology I havve edited (Freud’s Blind Spot: Writers on Siblings). The influence of these surroundings has had an immeasureable effect. I feel a broadened consciousness in the company of my fellow Fellows. I have been interested to see how these great minds go about their work and how they have structured their careers. I have also become very interested in Dutch writer and personality Ischa Meijer.  I was pleased to be able to discuss him and his work, and hope to coordinate a translation into English of Meijer’s book Letters to My Mother.
