Marcus Wagner and Tarik Abou-Chadi @ Nacht van de Sociologie

The Dutch elections according to sociologists

On the "Nacht van de Sociologie", it has only been two days since the Netherlands went to the polls. The big question now is: why did parties win or lose?

People often look at the role of the party-leader, but there are also deeper, sociological factors to success and loss, especially in the long run.

Tarik Abou-Chadi and Markus Wagner are conducting research at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS-KNAW) on party development and elections across Europe, particularly social democratic parties.

Abou-Chadi and Wagner share their main insights and are curious to hear yours.
