Photography, Confabulating our Past
Research Question
What is photography’s role in reconstructing the past? What are the mechanisms -if any- that create historical writing both in its written and visual form? My main focus is on the notion of history and the visual representation of historical events in relation to the transience of memory, both personal and collective.
