THE PEDLAR AND THE DISSEMINATION OF THE PRINTED WORD (1600-1850)

My stay at NIAS gave me the opportunity to write a draft version of my book, which is a synthesis of my VIDI research project. Besides that I was able to work on several other products of the same project: an exhibition, a database, a conference and an edited volume.  Furthermore I started up a new research project and prepared a project application for NWO. I found time to continue or finish running projects (editing of a diary, articles, KNAW-reports).  In short, NIAS gave me time, freedom, serenity and the facilities to work in a constant flow of inspiration. This was the most productive year of my scholarly career.
