Wim Raven, born in Raamsdonk, the Netherlands, in 1947. Ph.D. from Leiden University. Assistant Professor of Arabic Literature at the VU University, Amsterdam.

In my NIAS year I finished half of the planned book, which will contain an edition, translation and study of a tenth century Arabic text on cosmology and the proof of God’s existence, entitled Al-Dalâ’il wal-i’tibâr ‘alâ al-khalq wal-tadbir.
