I concentrated on the following three lines of research: 1) problems of general theory of linguistic semantics; 2) research on language universals, in particular on semantic universals and on universal semantic constraints on syntactic form; 3) some historical analysis of the work of E. Koschmieder concerning the theory of speech acts and ‘coincidental case’.
