Within my study on language nationalism in the Middle East, my research tasks were threefold: 1) to accumulate and assess the available data; 2) to examine relevant data in the light of information obtainable from research on language nationalism in Europe and America; and 3) to determine similarities and dissimilarities between the Middle Eastern case of language nationalism and those selected in Europe and America.
