Jacob Arends, born in Enschede, the Netherlands, in 1943. M.A. from Leiden University. Teacher of Latin and Greek at Bonaventure College, Leiden.

I wrote the final version of the first three chapters of a book on Plato’s Republic (The Unity of the Polis). In the second half of the year, I wrote a large part of the remaining three chapters of this book.
