Donate

Your donation—big or small—can support the NIAS Solidarity Fund, NIAS fellowships in general, or a specific NIAS fellowship of your choice. You may also consider leaving a legacy gift or establishing your own NIAS fellowship.

How your donation helps

Support the NIAS Solidarity Fund

Equity is not automatic; it requires support. NIAS ensures that all fellows receive equal stipends, but some require additional assistance—such as childcare (especially for single parents), specialised transport, mental health care, or financial support for families left behind.

The NIAS Solidarity Fund is a “fellows for fellows” initiative. New fellows are introduced to the fund and encouraged to contribute, even in small amounts, to help create a truly inclusive academic community.

Help fund Safe Haven Fellowships

Your donation can provide a lifeline to researchers facing threats from armed conflict or political violence. NIAS Safe Haven Fellowships support renowned and emerging scholars, giving them the freedom to pursue their research without fear.

These fellowships are “Blue Sky” grants— not restricted by specific themes. If you believe in academic freedom, curiosity-driven research, and the value of unexpected discoveries, consider making a donation.

Donate to a fellowship

You can choose to support a fellowship aligned with your professional field or interests, or contribute to NIAS fellowships in general. During their time at NIAS, fellows work without external obligations, pushing intellectual boundaries, exploring new ideas, and addressing both global and local challenges.

Like Safe Haven Fellowships, NIAS Fellowships follow a “Blue Sky” approach, funding projects of exceptional academic merit that may not fit into conventional funding schemes.
