NIAS has been committed to getting more women in science for years. We enable fellowships for talented female scientists, giving them the time and space to take their research to the next level.
On 17 April, the 2025 fellowships will be officially awarded during a festive ceremony at the L’Oréal-Unesco For Women in Science event at NEMO Science Museum. NEMO is a new partner in the L’Oréal-Unesco For Women in Science programme that is co-sponsored by the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study.
Established in 2012 to address the persistent underrepresentation of women in senior academic positions, the programme awards biennial grants of 30,000 euros each to four female researchers for a fellowship at NIAS-KNAW.
The L’Oréal-Unesco For Women in Science programme is a collaboration of Fondation L’Oréal (L’Oréal Belgilux & Nederland), Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS), LNVH – Dutch Network of Women Professors, NEMO & Netherlands Commission for Unesco.
