General Terms & Conditions – Tickets
1: Applicability
1.1 These terms and conditions apply to all offers, order confirmations and agreements in which NIAS-KNAW acts as a seller of tickets. Additions to or deviations from these terms and conditions only apply if they have been expressly accepted by NIAS-KNAW. No rights can be derived from commitments by any NIAS-KNAW employee unless they have been expressly confirmed in writing by NIAS-KNAW.
1.2 The general terms and conditions of buyers/clients are not applicable, unless NIAS-KNAW explicitly accepts that applicability.

2: Definitions
In these general terms and conditions, the terms listed below have the meaning stated therein:
2.1 NIAS-KNAW: the name of the entity with full legal capacity.
2.2 E-Ticket or Ticket: the admission ticket for an activity.
2.3 Buyer: the person who concludes an agreement with NIAS-KNAW for the supply of tickets (admission tickets) for activities.
2.4 Order confirmation: an electronic confirmation by NIAS-KNAW of the order placed by the buyer, which NIAS-KNAW will send to the e-mail address specified by the buyer or delivered to them.
2.5 Administration or service costs: These are made up of various components: the costs for using the payment method (iDeal) and the costs of the payment processor (Mollie) and costs that are incurred if the product is delivered by means of a paid method. An e-ticket will be sent by email.
3: Placement of orders
3.1 An order from the buyer is deemed to have been placed by the buyer if: the buyer has completed the ordering and payment procedure on the NIAS-KNAW website and the stated amount has been processed.
3.2 An order by the buyer also applies if the buyer has passed on all required information to NIAS-KNAW by telephone and the total amount has been received into NIAS-KNAW’s account.
3.3 An order is final after NIAS-KNAW has confirmed receipt of the order by sending an order confirmation by email.
4: Prices
4.1 The prices charged by NIAS-KNAW are binding. All costs are included in the prices charged by NIAS-KNAW.
4.2 Prices are expressed in euros.
4.3 The price applies per order. The price may change with a subsequent order. NIAS-KNAW reserves the right to change prices for its activities without prior notice or statement of reasons.
4.4 NIAS-KNAW reserves the right to give discounts on its ticket price, for example by means of discount codes.
4.5 Discount codes are only redeemable during the checkout process and cannot be redeemed retroactively.
4.6 Discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash.
5: Payment
5.1 Payment must be made via the NIAS-KNAW website or, contrary to this, in a manner to be specified by NIAS-KNAW.
5.2 When paying via the NIAS-KNAW website, the payment details are sent securely by your own bank facilitated by iDEAL and Mollie.
5.3 All payments are collected in euros.
6: (Delivery) tickets
6.1 NIAS-KNAW sends the e-tickets by e-mail.
6.2 Contrary to the above, NIAS-KNAW can choose to have the tickets delivered in a different way, for example by means of collection at the entrance before the start of the activity.
7: Purchase guarantee and cancellations
7.1 If an activity is canceled by the organiser, NIAS-KNAW will offer replacement tickets based on availability or reimbursement of the full order amount excluding administration/service costs (these costs amount to €0.99 per ticket plus 4% of the ticket amount).
7.2 This warranty does not affect the other rights of the buyer.
7.3 Tickets ordered, confirmed and paid for cannot be returned or refunded.
8: Special provisions, liability
8.1 The buyer of a ticket supplied by NIAS-KNAW must behave as a good and orderly visitor to activities and adhere to instructions given by or on behalf of the organizer of an activity to be visited by the buyer, as well as by the competent authority.
8.2 NIAS-KNAW will not be liable for a refusal by the organizers of an activity or a public authority to admit the buyer of a ticket supplied by NIAS-KNAW to an activity due to acts and/or omissions by the buyer.
8.3 The purchaser of a ticket attends an activity at his own risk. NIAS-KNAW will not be liable for damage incurred by the buyer during the journey to or from the activity or attending it.
8.4 The buyer of a ticket supplied by NIAS-KNAW must inform themselves of any instructions given by or on behalf of the organizer of the activity or the competent authority regarding, as well as changes with regard to the activity, such as starting time and the like. NIAS-KNAW has no obligation or liability to provide the buyer with further information in this regard.
8.5 It is the buyer’s responsibility to be informed of the correct date and time of the start of the activities.
8.6 Cancellation of your order is only possible in exceptional cases. See point 7 for more information.
8.7 It is not permitted to sell the admission tickets supplied by NIAS-KNAW to third parties or to provide the admission tickets to third parties in any other way commercially, directly or indirectly, or to distribute the admission tickets in commercial communications – in any way whatsoever.
8.8 If the above conditions are acted upon, NIAS-KNAW is entitled to invalidate the admission tickets. Holders of such tickets will be denied access to the activity without any right to refund or compensation.
9: Applicable law
9.1 Dutch law applies to the agreement.
