During my rather inspiring and very pleasant year at NIAS, I managed to finish one volume of a two volume project on “Sinology, Orientalism, and Public Policy”. The first book focuses upon how bibliographical data on China have accumulated over the last 200 to 300 years in four different academic communities: China, Japan, Europe, and the United States.
