I was able to complete and begin several pieces of work related to my interest in the relationship between technological change and social change. During the year, I completed a report for the European Commission on the public policy issues raised by public sector use of information technology. I also prepared a conference paper about new information technology and domestic life, which has been revised for publication and translated into French. I have also completed more than half of my book about the development of three large government networks (two in Britain and one in the United States).
