Barbara Wolfe, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, in 1943. Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Associate Professor of Economics and Preventative Medicine at the University of Wisconsin,Madison.

I completed several publications on topics from the field of the economics of disability including: ‘modelling true disability as a latent variable’, ‘qualitative choice model of women’s labour force, disability transfer choices’; ‘a maximum likelihood model of men’s choices between work and retirement’; ‘modelling and simulating behavioural responses to social security retrenchment’; ‘men’s labour force responses to disability transfers’. I also completed a research project on the determinants of men’s disability; and ‘pension policy and age retirement’.
