Fellow (1 September 1994 – 30 June 1995)
I was a member of the NIAS theme group “Magic and Religion in the Ancient Near East”. The inspiring weekly discussions of the group led to many new insights, some of which are recorded in a joint paper with co Fellow W. van Binsbergen, on the historical development of Mesopotamian magic. I also assembled and organized some of the basic materials for my forthcoming book entitled “Time, Space and Morality: A Study on Mesopotamian Iconography”.
