Pieter van Wieringen, born in The Hague, the Netherlands, in 1941. Ph.D. from the VU University, Amsterdam. Associate Professor of Psychology at the VU University, Amsterdam.

Fellow (1 September 1989 – 30 June 1990)

At a conference organised by the ‘Human movements’ I presented a paper defending the view that both approaches can be reconciled in the sense that information processing demands may motivate non-linear, self-organizing phase transitions in movements.
