FRENCH CULTURE IN THE NINETEENTH CENTURY: THREE GENERATIONS OF ARTISTS, PHILOSOPHERS AND WRITERS BELONGING TO THE SCHEFFER-RENAN-PSICHARI FAMILY
During the second year of my Honorary Fellowship, for which I would like to thank the Directorate of NIAS, two tasks asked much of my attention: in the first place the finishing of The European Colonial Empires, 1815-1919, which came out in the spring of 2004. In the second place my work on another project: a book with the provisional title of “France at War, 1870-1962”.
