Media, Political Cynicism and Engagement in European Politics
Public support for and engagement in European politics are heavily discussed. Alongside a range of well-established predictors for (change in) public support, the role of the media and their coverage of EU politics has moved to the center stage. Depending on how the news media report about the EU, they may spark or reduce political cynicism and support for different aspects of European integration.
