René van der Vlist, born in Maastricht, the Netherlands, in 1937. Ph.D. from the Universityof Groningen . Professor of Social and Organisational Psychology at Leiden University.

Within the Nucleus on Organisation Studies I focused on leadership in organizations. During my stay, I wrote an article on participative leadership for a Dutch journal Gedrag en Organisaties (Behavior and Organization). I also co-authored an article on attribution theory and leadership for the same journal. I spent most of my time writing a monograph on Leadership in Organisations.
