Mark van de Vall, born in Heiloo, the Netherlands, in 1923. Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam. Professor of Sociology at Leiden University. († 1993)

Fellow (1 September 1983 – 31 August 1984)

I succeeded in formulating a reasonably comprehensive theoretical framework of social policy research. My main project was Data-Based Sociological Practice: Toward a Professional Paradigm. The other project was A historical and empirical study of Japanese leadership in modernization: 1880-1980.
