Trigeorgis, L.

Lenos Trigeorgis, born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1957. Ph.D. from Harvard University, Cambridge. Professor of Finance at the University of Cyprus and Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago.

Fellow (1 February 1999 – 30 June 1999)

As part of the theme group on real options, I worked on the general subject of project appraisal under uncertainty, to value managerial operating flexibility and strategic interactions in investment decisions. The main goal of this research was to quantify managerial flexibility to adapt and revise later decisions in response to unexpected market developments.

The results of this research were disseminated in various ways: through lectures in seminars/workshops and conferences, writing of a number of forthcoming papers and working papers of publishable quality, work on several books, and on the organisation of the Third Annual International Conference on Real Options: Theory Meets Practice.

I also coedited a book (with A. Micalizzi) on Real Options Applications (Egea, Milan, 1999), and made progress on two other books, one on “Modern Capital Budgeting” (McGraw-Hill); and a book (with H. Smit) on “Investment Strategy: Options and Games” (Princeton University Press).
