Alfredo Torero Fernández de Córdoba, born in Huacho, Peru, in 1930. Ph.D. from Sorbonne University, Paris. Professor of Linguistics at the University of San Marcos, Lima. († 2004)

During my stay at NIAS a significant advance was made in my research on Andean Languages and I worked out an elaborate systematic correlation of these languages with other from American families of the Amazonian region (Central America and Eastern South America).
