Paul van Tongeren, born in Deventer, the Netherlands, in 1950. Ph.D. from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Professor of Moral Philosophy at Radboud University Nijmegen.
Fellow (1 September 1994 – 30 June 1995)
I completed about half of the book on Nietzsches philosophy, and prepared the other half. Apart from this I finished the editing work of a collection of essays on tolerance (Grensverkenningen, Nijmegen 1994), I wrote one smaller article (“Geloven, handelen, weten”, to be published in 1995) and contributed to a public discussion on `assisted suicide’. I prepared and gave three lectures, of which one will be published in due time. Thanks to the rest, the ‘isolation’, and the excellent facilities of NIAS, I succeeded in making this first half of my sabbatical a fruitful semester
