THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO EDUCATION IN SOUTH AFRICA AND NIGERIA

My stay at NIAS has been tremendously productive in terms of my research undertaking and output. I have been able to complete a book entitled: “the Protection of the Right to Education in Nigeria.” The 12-chapter book will promote human rights in Africa and Nigeria in particular. I considered this a great achievement given the paucity of materials on this important topic in Nigeria. In addition, I have written a good number of articles and also contributed chapters in edited books. Credit is given to NIAS for giving me the enabling environment and necessary facilities for research and also, the European network of Institutes for Advanced Study under the auspice of which I have the fellowship for my stay at NIAS. My interaction with fellows in other disciplines has equally equipped me with multi-disciplinary perspectives in my approach to issues. NIAS gave me unfettered freedom to pursue my research at my own pace, its library staff are wonderful for their assistance.
