Máté Szabó, born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1956. Ph.D. from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest. Assistant Professor of Political Science at the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest.
Fellow (1 September 1994 – 30 June 1995)
During my five month fellowship at NIAS I was able to finish the interpretation and the documentation of the project in the working paper “Political Culture and Conflict Resolution in East Central Europe, Based upon Protest Event Analysis; Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary 1993”. There were some preliminary publications prepared and lectures held based on the project. NIAS provided me with an almost unlimited access to current English literature on this specific field, correction of the manuscript by a native speaker of English, and participation in international and interdisciplinary discussions with outstanding social scientists from the East and the West.
